If you walk down West Patel Nagar, you might find us on the ground floor at 7/8. It is New Delhi, so the noise from the street is basically constant. Eppur Impex has been operating out of this spot for a good while. The space is a bit cramped because we have a lot of files and samples lying around on the shelves. Usually, the chai wallah comes by at eleven and that is probably the best part of the morning. We spend a lot of time on the phone dealing with shipments and customs stuff. It gets pretty loud when everyone is talking at once. The floor is that old tile that stays cool even when it is baking outside. We have a few fans going all day long to keep the air moving. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and talk until the backup kicks in. It is not some high-tech place with glass walls or fancy furniture. It is just a couple of rooms where we get the import and export jobs finished. We try to stay organized but things get messy when a big order comes in. Most of the guys here have been working together for years. We know each other’s families and what everyone likes for lunch. It is just a small team in 110008 trying to keep things moving. There is always a lot to do before the sun goes down and we lock up.
