Engineers India Ltd. is a large company, but our daily lives happen on the 11th floor at Bhikaiji Cama Place in Rk Puram. It’s a busy building with a lot of stairs and elevators that seem to take forever when you’re in a rush. Being up on the 11th floor gives us a bit of a view of the Delhi skyline, though we’re usually too busy with blueprints and technical documents to look out the window much. This office is filled with people who know their way around a project site. We spend most of our hours looking at figures and making sure the math adds up. It's not the kind of place where you’ll find a lot of fluff. It’s mostly desks, computers, and stacks of paper that never seem to get any smaller. Rk Puram is a central spot, so there are always people coming and going. The atmosphere is pretty focused. We talk shop over lunch and then get back to it. It’s a lot of coordination between different departments. Sometimes things get complicated, and we have to stay late to figure out a snag in a plan. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. We don't really go for the corporate lifestyle even though the company name is big. At the end of the day, we’re just a bunch of people trying to get the engineering right and finishing the day's tasks before heading home.
