Our place, Emaarp Tyres, is located at 878, S.P. Mukherjee Marg. It’s a very busy road, and we see thousands of vehicles go past every single day. The air always smells a bit like rubber around here because of all the stock we keep. We have tyres stacked up pretty high, and moving them around is a good workout. We don’t have any polished floors or air-conditioned waiting rooms. It’s just a practical shop where tyres get handled. During the summer, it gets pretty warm inside with all that rubber, but we’ve got a few fans going to keep the air moving. We spend our time checking tread, talking to drivers, and getting the right sets ready for whoever needs them. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and sometimes the dust from the road gets everywhere. We don’t try to act like we’re a big corporate office. We’re just a team of people who know a lot about tyres and wheels. S.P. Mukherjee Marg is always loud, so we usually have to raise our voices to be heard over the trucks. We’ve been in this same spot for a while now and we know the rhythms of the street. Some days are packed with people stopping by and other days we just spend time organizing the warehouse. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from the time we open until we head home. We just keep rolling.
