Delhi Book Store

We are located at 19 Ansari Road, right near the fire station in Darya Ganj. If you know this area, you know how packed the streets get with people and carts. Our place is basically filled with books from the floor to the ceiling. There are stacks in almost every corner and sometimes it is hard to walk through the aisles without bumping into something. It smells like old paper and ink in here, which is something we have just grown to love over the years. We spend a lot of our time unpacking new boxes and trying to find space on the shelves for everything. The fire station nearby is a good landmark, and you can often hear the sirens when they head out. It is a very busy part of Delhi, so there is always noise coming in from the street. We have a small desk near the front where we handle the billing and talk to whoever walks in. It isn't a modern shop with bright lights; it’s more of a traditional bookstore where things are a bit dusty but functional. People come in looking for all sorts of things, and we do our best to find where we put everything. It’s a lot of manual work, moving heavy crates and sorting through titles, but it keeps us busy. We just keep at it day after day in this little corner of the market.
