It might seem a bit odd to have a Goa business based out of B-92 D.D.A. Flats in Kalkaji, but that is where we are. New Delhi is a long way from the ocean, yet we spend our whole day talking about rooms and guests down south. The office is one of those standard government-built flats, so it has that specific layout everyone in Delhi recognizes. We have a few desks squeezed into the main room and the balcony is mostly used for storing old boxes of brochures that we send out. Kalkaji is a busy place with a lot of noise from the main road, which is quite the contrast to the quiet beach vibes we are usually selling over the phone. We spend a lot of time on long-distance calls, trying to make sure everything is running right at the property. Sometimes the internet is slow and we have to restart the router a few times a day. It is just a handful of us working here, mostly keeping track of bookings and sorting out the administrative side of things. We drink a lot of coffee to keep up with the pace of the city. Most people who come by are just looking for directions or are delivery drivers trying to find the right block in this maze of flats. It is a practical setup for what we need to do. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily grind.
