City Motors

City Motors is located at Shop No. 2 in the Mithan Lal Motor Market. We are right in the heart of Bara Bazar at Kashmere Gate. This market has a lot of history and it shows in the old buildings and the narrow lanes. Our shop is just one of many, but we have been here for a long time. It is a very tight space, and we have parts stacked up all the way to the ceiling. You have to be careful when you walk in so you don't trip over a crate. The smell of oil and old metal is everywhere here. It’s just how Kashmere Gate is. We don't have a fancy waiting area or any leather chairs. Most customers just stand at the counter and tell us what they need. We have an old fan that hums loudly all day long. Sometimes we have to shout a bit just to be heard over the noise of the market outside. We don't use computers to keep track of our sales. Everything is written by hand in our registers. It is a very traditional way of doing things, but it has worked for us for decades. We close up when it gets dark and the market starts to quiet down. It is a long day, but we are used to the rhythm of this place. We take the metro home once we lock the shutters.
