Lim Nursury

You can find us in Chilla, right near Amitabh Park and the Sani Mandir in Okhla. It’s a bit of greenery in a very busy part of the city. We spend our whole day with our hands in the dirt. It’s not a clean job, but we like it. We grow all sorts of things, from small flowering plants to bigger trees that take years to get right. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to prune and water things properly. The sun gets really strong over here, so we’re always moving pots into the shade or making sure the pipes aren't leaking. People stop by after visiting the temple or the park. They ask about what will grow on their balcony or in their small yards. We just tell them the truth, even if it means they don't buy something that won't survive. It’s better that way. The nursery is always a bit disorganized because plants grow wherever they want. We have rows of saplings and some older decorative bushes. It’s quiet work compared to the traffic outside on the main roads. We’ve been here in this spot for quite some time. We don't bother with advertising. If the plants look healthy, people buy them. That's the only way a nursery really works. We just keep planting and waiting for things to grow, day in and day out.
