You can find us over at 2215 Chaindara, inside Bhagirath Palace in the middle of Chandni Chowk. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets with people and carts moving in every direction. Our shop isn’t very big, but we’ve packed a lot into the space we have at Rd Lighting Solution. It’s bright inside, obviously, because of all the items we keep on display. The walls are lined with boxes, and there’s barely enough room for two people to pass each other in the aisle. We spend a lot of time talking to people who come in looking for very specific things. Chandni Chowk has a rhythm of its own, and you have to get used to the noise of the market if you’re going to work here. We usually have a hot cup of chai on the counter, though it often goes cold before we can finish it. It’s a busy life, and we don’t have much time for sitting around. When the shutters go down at the end of the day, there’s a bit of a relief in the silence. We’ve been part of this market for a while, and we know many of the other shopkeepers by name. It feels like a small village inside a giant city. We just keep doing our thing and helping folks find what they need for their homes or businesses. It is loud and dusty but it is home for us.
