Chakshu Clinic

Chakshu Clinic is over in Block C of Vivek Vihar, specifically at C-15. It’s a pretty typical residential block, so it’s usually a bit quieter than the main commercial streets. Most of our patients live within walking distance, so we see a lot of the same neighbors over and over again. The clinic itself is quite small. We have a front desk where the files are kept and a small area for people to sit while they wait their turn. It’s not the kind of place that has a big staff; it’s just a few of us making sure everything is taken care of. We try to keep the place clean and tidy, but with people coming in from the dusty streets all day, it’s a constant battle with the broom. Vivek Vihar is a nice area, and being in Block C feels a bit like being in a small village sometimes because everyone knows everyone else’s business. We don’t do any big advertising or put up huge posters. People just know we are here if they need us. Sometimes we sit and have a cup of tea when it’s slow, watching the cars go by outside. It’s a simple operation, nothing too fancy or complicated. We just focus on the people who come through the door and try to help them out as best as we can without making things difficult for anyone.
