Chabbra Auto Spares is in Office No. 639 on Hamilton Road, right in the heart of Kashmere Gate. If you’ve ever been to Kashmere Gate, you know how crazy it is. It’s probably one of the busiest auto parts markets you’ll ever see. Our shop is packed with parts for all sorts of vehicles. We have stuff piled up in every corner. It looks messy to an outsider, but we know exactly where every bolt and gasket is located. People come to us when they can’t find a part anywhere else. We’ve been here for a long time, and we’ve seen the market change. It’s a lot noisier now. We spend most of our day on the phone or talking to customers who walk in. There’s always someone looking for something specific. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to be efficient with our storage. The tea stalls nearby are where we get our energy from during the long afternoons. Sometimes we have to send someone to another shop to swap parts because that’s how the community works here. We help each other out. It’s a tough place to work because of the heat and the crowds, but it’s what we know. We don't bother with fancy displays or lights. The parts speak for themselves. We just try to give people what they need so they can get their cars back on the road and out of the shop as quickly as possible.
