Down in the Kapashera area of New Delhi, we run Cargo Motors Private Limited. It’s a place where there is always the smell of oil and the sound of engines. We aren't a fancy showroom with shiny floors. Our place is more about the work that happens under the hood and in the back office. The dust from the road comes in whenever the door opens, but that’s just life in Kapashera. We have a crew of people who have been around motors for a long time. We don't use big fancy words to describe what we do. If a vehicle needs work or if we are moving things around, we just get to it. Sometimes we run out of spare parts and have to wait for a delivery, which can be frustrating, but we manage. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break and talk about nothing in particular. We aren't part of some giant corporate machine that forgets who people are. We know our regulars by their voices when they call. We don't have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a calendar with scribbled notes and a clock that’s five minutes fast. It’s just a regular business where we try to stay busy and keep things moving as best as we can. It’s honest work and we like it.
