Carace India

Our business, Carace India, is located at 847/7 in the Crown Motor Market. If you have ever been to Tilak Gali, you know how packed it gets. There are car parts everywhere, and the street is so narrow that two cars can barely pass each other. We are right in the thick of it. The shop is filled with various items for vehicles, mostly stacked on high metal shelves that we need a ladder to reach. It’s a bit dark inside because the buildings are so close together, but we have some bright tube lights that keep things visible. There is always the sound of someone honking or a mechanic working on an engine nearby. We spend our days talking to customers who come in looking for specific parts or just asking for advice on their cars. We don't have a website that works very well, and we don't do much advertising. People just find us by walking through the market. Our hands are usually a little greasy from handling the stock, and the floor has those black marks that never really come off. We have a small desk where we keep the ledger and the old telephone. The shop across the street sells heavy batteries, so there is always someone dragging something heavy over the pavement. It’s an old-school way of doing things, but in a place like Tilak Gali, that’s just how it goes. We stay busy from the moment we open the shutters.
