If you find yourself on S.P Mukharjee Marg, you’ll see us at number 1633. This is an old part of the city, and the shop feels that way too. It’s a narrow space, but it goes back quite a bit. We’ve got stacks of spare parts for all sorts of motors. Some of the boxes on the top shelves have been there for years, covered in a thin layer of dust. We deal with everything from old trucks to newer cars. The street outside is always full of rickshaws, carts, and people shouting, so it’s never quiet here. We don't have a fancy computer system to track everything. A lot of it is kept in old ledger books or just in our heads. We know which drawer has the brass fittings and where the fan belts are kept. It’s a bit of a maze, honestly. People come to us when they can't find a part anywhere else. We spend our days climbing ladders and moving heavy crates. The tea seller comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, but the shop stays pretty much the same. It’s just a reliable place for motor parts in a busy part of Delhi. We just keep the doors open and help the customers who wander in.
