We are based in Anand Parbat at Plot No 23/3 on Street No 11. If you know this area, you know it’s always crowded with vehicles and people moving stuff around. Our place is basically where the gas cylinder bookings get handled. There is always a lot of clanging noise from the cylinders being moved off the trucks. It’s a tough kind of work and the office is usually full of papers and delivery schedules. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to people who are wondering where their delivery is. Street No 11 is narrow, so when the trucks come in, everything else kind of has to stop for a minute. We’ve been operating out of this plot for a while and the walls are a bit dusty from all the industrial activity around Anand Parbat. It isn’t a place for sitting around. People come in to drop off their empty tanks or to register for a new connection. We have a couple of desks and some old chairs for anyone waiting. The workers are always coming and going, carrying those heavy blue or red tanks on their shoulders. It gets really busy in the mornings when everyone realizes they are out of gas for cooking. We just try to keep the records straight and make sure the trucks go out to the right houses every day.
