Bee Kay Automotive is tucked away in the middle of all the action over at Kashmere Gate. We are at shop number 7 in the Prakashwati Motor Market, which sits in the 767 Chabi Ganj area. If you’ve ever spent time in this part of Delhi, you already know it is one of the busiest places you could ever imagine. It is all about engines and vehicle parts in every direction you look. We have been working from this specific spot for quite some time. The stairs leading up are a bit on the narrow side and the noise coming from the street outside never really stops, but after a while, you don't even notice it anymore. It can be a tight squeeze inside with all the boxes and stock we have to keep, but we make it work somehow. Most of our day is spent just chatting with people who come in needing something for their cars or trucks. Kashmere Gate is the kind of place where it's easy to get turned around if you don't know the lanes well. We aren’t trying to be the biggest shop on the block. We just stay focused and deal with the orders as they come through the door. Chabi Ganj has a lot of history to it, and the market is full of people who have been doing this work for years. We don't have any air conditioning or a fancy area for people to sit, just a simple counter for business.
