Bajaj Textiles

You’ll find us on Batala Road, right in that narrow textile lane where everyone is selling something. Bajaj Textiles is one of those places where you have to watch your step because there’s always a roll of fabric being moved or a stack of cloth sitting by the door. It gets pretty cramped in here, especially when a new shipment arrives. The lighting isn't the best, just some old tube lights that flicker sometimes, but we can see the colors well enough. We’ve been in this lane for years. It’s noisy with the sounds of the road and the other shops nearby. We spend most of the day measuring out lengths and talking to the guys who bring the goods in. It’s a lot of lifting and moving things around. The floor is usually covered in lint and threads, no matter how much we sweep. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we're here. We sit on the stools near the front and wait for the regulars to come by. The air smells like fresh cotton and dye. It’s a simple life, really. We open up early and stay until the sun goes down and the lane gets quiet. Sometimes we share a meal in the back room between customers. It’s just us, some cloth, and the daily grind of the textile market. We keep our notebooks by the phone and write everything down by hand. It's how we've always done it.
