Bajaj Publication

Bajaj Publication is located up on the fifth floor of Ashok Bhavan, at 93 Nehru Place. Being in such a busy part of Delhi means there is never a dull moment. Our office, room 507, is basically a maze of books, manuscripts, and stacks of paper. It’s not the most organized place, to be honest, but we know where everything is. We spend our days going over proofs, talking to printers, and trying to keep the publication schedule on track. The elevator in the building is often slow, so we get a lot of exercise taking the stairs. It’s a very old-school environment where we still do a lot of things by hand or on older machines. We don’t have a big corporate structure or a bunch of fancy titles. We’re just a group of people who like the world of publishing and enjoy seeing a project come together. Sometimes the noise from the street below is a bit much, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We usually have lunch at our desks while we read through whatever is being worked on that week. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have visitors, as there isn’t much room between the bookshelves and the desks. We don't go in for big marketing campaigns; we just focus on getting the books out to the people who want them. It’s a busy, somewhat messy, but good life here.
