B J Madan & Co has been around for a long time, right here at 1575 in Chandni Chowk. Specifically, we are located in Bhagirath Palace, which anyone in the trade knows is the main hub for everything related to medicine and electricals. It is a very loud and crowded place to work every day, but that is just the nature of the market. Our shop is not very large, but we make the most of every inch of space we have. Stacks of boxes are everywhere, and we are constantly moving things around to find what a customer needs. Working in this part of Delhi means you have to get used to the narrow lanes and the constant noise of rickshaws and people shouting. We start early and usually don't finish until late in the evening when the market starts to quiet down a bit. There is no air conditioning in the main corridors, so it gets quite hot, but we have a small fan that keeps us going. We deal with a lot of regular clients who have been coming to us for years. They know exactly where to find us in the maze of Bhagirath Palace. We don't use much fancy technology here; it is mostly just pen, paper, and a lot of talking. It is a traditional way of doing business that still works in a place like this. We just focus on keeping the inventory stocked and helping whoever walks through the door.
