Automart International

Starting out at Kashmere Gate, you learn quickly how to handle the noise and the constant movement. Our place, Automart International, is right there in the Minerva Cinema Building at 2766. It’s an old spot with a lot of history packed into the walls. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know the traffic is something else entirely. Most days start with the sound of shutters going up all around us. We spend a good amount of time just sorting through things and making sure everything is where it should be. It isn't a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s more of a practical space where we get the work done. People come in and out, asking about this part or that. Sometimes the electricity acts up, but that’s just life in the older buildings. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. The Minerva Cinema Building is a landmark for a lot of folks, so it makes it easier to tell people where to find us. Usually, someone is drinking tea while looking over a ledger. It’s a busy environment, but we’re used to the pace. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's just us here, handling the daily tasks and trying to keep things moving. The street outside is always full of people and rickshaws, so there is never a quiet moment during the day.
