Auto Components India Magazine

Our office is on the first floor of Plot No. 26 in the Okhla Industrial Estate. It’s Phase 3, which is always buzzing with people and vehicles. Auto Components India Magazine is run from this space. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, and the railing is a little loose, so you have to be careful. Once you’re inside, it’s mostly just stacks of paper and magazines everywhere. We have computers and some old layout boards that we don't use much anymore. The windows look out over the street, so we see all the chaos of Okhla throughout the day. It’s never quiet here, but we’ve learned to work through the honking and the shouting outside. Sometimes the delivery guys get confused about which entrance to use, so we end up shouting directions down from the balcony. We aren't a big media house with fancy studios. It’s just a bunch of us sitting at desks, writing and checking facts. The kettle is almost always on because we drink a lot of tea while we work. We don't have a formal dress code or anything; most people just wear what’s comfortable for a long day. We just focus on getting the next issue ready and making sure the printers have what they need. It’s a lot of work, but we’ve been doing it this way for a long time now.
