Our office is situated on the 12th floor of New Delhi House, which is at 27 Barakhamba Road. Being in Room 1201 means we have a bit of a view of the surrounding city, though we are usually too busy with paperwork to look out the window much. This is the main hub for the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India. Most of what we do involves coordinating with members, organizing documents, and planning for the different events we hold throughout the year. It’s a typical office environment with lots of shelves full of journals and files related to biochemistry. The elevators in this building can be a bit slow during the lunch hour because so many people work here, so you have to be patient if you are visiting. We have a small team here that keeps things running, from handling memberships to making sure the mail gets sent out on time. Barakhamba Road is a very central part of New Delhi, so there is always something going on outside. We aren't a hospital or a clinic; we are more of an administrative center for professionals in the field. It can get pretty cluttered with all the research papers and conference materials stacked up, but we know where everything is. It’s a busy spot for us, especially when there is a big meeting coming up and everyone is trying to get things finalized before the deadline.
