As Steward

Our place is in Sagarpur, tucked away in Gali Number 5 at Rz-49. This is in the 110046 area of New Delhi. The lanes here are very narrow, so you have to be careful when walking or riding a bike through them. It’s a very local neighborhood where everyone knows their neighbors’ business. We work as stewards, and this house serves as our main base for managing our schedules and keeping our uniforms ready. The house is a typical Delhi structure with several floors built on top of each other. Our workspace is just a small corner with a table and a single chair. It gets quite noisy outside with the vegetable sellers calling out their prices and the motorcycles zooming past. We don't have any fancy equipment, just what we need to stay organized. Sometimes the water supply is a bit unpredictable, so we keep buckets filled just in case. It’s a very honest way of living and working. There are no polished floors or glass doors here. The walls are covered with some old calendars and notes pinned up so we don't forget our shifts. We spend a lot of time on our feet, so when we are back at Rz-49, we just want a quiet place to sit and have some tea. It is a humble life in a busy part of the city, and we just take each day as it comes without making any big fuss about it.
