Anil Motors

Anil Motors is located at Plot No. 1261 on the ground floor in Bara Bazar. This part of Kashmiri Gate is always crowded and the traffic can be a real headache if you are trying to bring a car in. We are quite close to the Old Hindu College, so there are always students and people walking past the shop. The floor is usually covered in some oil and there are engine parts sitting on the shelves. It’s a bit messy but that’s how a garage looks when you are actually working. We have been in this spot for years. The building is old and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we spend most of our time under hoods rather than looking at the walls. We fix all sorts of cars and deal with mechanical issues that people bring to us. It gets very hot in the summer, especially with the engines running nearby. We have a couple of fans going, but they mostly just move the warm air around. My hands are usually dirty by ten in the morning. We don't have a fancy waiting room with a TV. People just stand around and talk while we look at their vehicles. It's a local shop for people who live around here or work in the bazaar. We know most of the faces that come through the door. It is just hard work and grease and plenty of noise from the street.
