Amar Diesel

Amar Diesel is located at Shop Number 60 in the Gurunanak Market area of Kashmiri Gate. We have been working out of this small spot for a long time now. The market is always crowded and noisy, but that is just how things are in this part of Delhi. Most days, it’s just us surrounded by diesel engine parts and tools. The shop isn’t much to look at, with grease on the walls and floors that haven't been truly clean in years. We focus mainly on diesel pumps and injectors. It is a steady flow of work. People from all over the city come through Kashmiri Gate, so we see many different faces. Some are regulars who have been coming here since my father ran the place. We don’t have a fancy waiting area or any air conditioning. Most people just stand in the lane or sit on a stool while we take a look at their parts. The shelves are packed with old boxes, and sometimes it takes a bit of digging to find exactly what we need. It’s a simple way to make a living. We keep our doors open from morning until the market starts to wind down at night. It is a lot of hard work and dirty hands, but it’s what we know. We don't spend money on ads or anything like that. People just find us. We just keep doing the same thing every day and it seems to work out for us.
