Our office at Alec Electric Pvt. Ltd. is on New Rohtak Road in Karol Bagh. If you know the area, you know how much traffic there is at 9934. It is always loud outside with horns and people walking by. Inside, we have shelves full of electrical components and boxes that have been there for a while. We spend most of our time answering the phone and checking the inventory. The building is older, so the stairs are a bit narrow and the walls are a dull color. We have a few desks squeezed in together where we do all the billing and orders. It gets pretty cramped when we have a lot of stock delivered. We usually have the radio on a low volume just to drown out some of the street noise. Karol Bagh is a busy place to work, and there is always something happening outside our window. We don't have any polished displays or fancy lighting. It is just a regular office where we handle the business of selling electrical stuff. We have a small area in the back where we test some of the parts before they go out. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, which is funny considering what we sell. We just wait for it to come back on and keep working. It is a lot of small tasks that fill up the day, from checking invoices to talking to the delivery guys who come and go.
