Ahmad Leather is right in the heart of the Main Bazar in Pahar Ganj. Our shop is at No. 5060 in the General Market, near the Happy Tailors. If you’ve ever been to Pahar Ganj, you know how chaotic and loud it is. There are tourists and locals everywhere, and the lanes are narrow. We’ve been here for a long time, tucked away among all the other shops. We sell leather bags, jackets, and belts. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling with stock. There’s barely enough room for more than two customers at a time. It’s dusty because of all the traffic outside in the Main Bazar, and we have to wipe the bags down every morning. We don’t do any fancy marketing. We just hang our best items out front and hope people stop by. My uncle started this place years ago and not much has changed since then. We use old wooden counters and the lighting isn't the best. But people like the smell of the leather and the fact that they can see us working on repairs in the back. Sometimes the power goes out and we just use flashlights to keep going. It’s a tough environment with all the noise of Paharganj, but it’s where we belong. We’ve made friends with all the other shopkeepers in the market. It’s a busy, messy, and honest way to make a living for us. We just keep going day by day.
