You’ll find us at H.No. R-229, down Lane Number 5 on Sir Syed Road. This is the Joga Bai Extension area of Jamia Nagar in Okhla. If you’ve ever been here, you know how narrow the lanes are and how much is always happening with people and shops everywhere. Our place is part of the residential block, so it feels very much like a local neighborhood spot. We handle international dealings, which sounds bigger than the office actually looks when you walk in. It’s mostly just a few rooms filled with computers, samples, and shipping boxes piled up. The walls are lined with maps and calendars. We spend a lot of time on the phone because of the different time zones we deal with. Sometimes you’ll see us working late into the night when the rest of the lane has gone quiet. The electricity can be a bit tricky sometimes, so we have our backups ready to go. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, and people often get lost trying to find Lane 5. We usually have to go out and meet them at the corner to show them the way. There’s always someone drinking tea and discussing the latest shipments. It’s not a formal environment at all. We wear regular clothes and sit wherever there’s space. It’s a lot of coordination and paperwork, making sure things get where they need to go in the end.
