Accountant Motika

You can find me over at 18 5 Railway Colony in Kishan Ganj. I have been working as an accountant in this spot for a long time now. The office is right in the middle of the colony, which is a very specific part of Delhi. My work involves a lot of numbers and tax forms, which is just the way it is. I spend my mornings going through the ledgers and my afternoons sorting out the paperwork that comes with being an accountant. It might not be the most exciting thing for some people, but I like the logic of it all. Everything has to balance out at the end of the month or I can’t go home happy. My workspace is usually filled with stacks of folders and old receipts from clients. People from around the neighborhood and some small businesses nearby bring their files to me. I don’t use any of those big, fancy methods that the huge firms use. I just do it the old-fashioned way, making sure every single rupee is accounted for correctly. The Railway Colony has a very familiar, lived-in vibe. It gets a bit noisy because of the trains being so close, but you get used to that sound after a few weeks. I don’t have a large staff here, just a couple of people to help with the data entry. We stay very busy during the tax season, working late hours to get everything done.
