Abhishek Motors

We have been operating Abhishek Motors from Plot No 433/2 for a long time. Punja Sharif is a crowded area, and Gali Rajan Kalan is even tighter, but it’s where we belong. Most people in Kashmere Gate know where to find us if they need motor parts or some help with their vehicles. The lane is always full of people and scooters moving around. It gets a bit noisy during the day, but that’s just how it is here. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. It’s a practical workshop where we spend our time dealing with greasy parts and heavy tools. My brother and I started this because we liked engines. We aren't corporate people with suits. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work early in the morning. Sometimes the deliveries are late because the trucks can't get into the narrow street, so we have to carry things by hand. It’s hard work, but it keeps us going. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We have old customers who have been coming to us for decades. They like that we are still here. We don't do any big advertising or have a mission statement. We just open the shutters, drink some chai, and start working on whatever needs fixing. It’s a simple life in a busy city.
