Abacus Academy

Our academy is based in Paschim Vihar 3. It is a local place where we teach abacus to kids from the surrounding neighborhood. The rooms are quite simple, with rows of small desks and chairs that are just the right size for children. You will hear the sound of abacus beads clicking almost all day long. It is not a silent place, as there is always a lot of chatter and kids asking questions. We have some posters on the walls to help with the lessons, but they are a bit faded now. The floor has some marks from where we move the furniture around for different classes. We started this place because we wanted to offer something useful for the families nearby. Parents usually wait outside on the sidewalk or come back later to pick up their kids. It gets pretty crowded during the transition between classes. We do not have a big office or a fancy waiting room. It is just a functional space for learning. We spend a lot of time going over the same math exercises until the students get them right. It is a humble setup, and we are fine with that. Most of the people who come here found out about us from a neighbor or a friend. It is just a regular part of the daily routine here in Paschim Vihar.
