Aaliya Antique Shawls

We are located over at B-636 in the D. D. A. Colony here in Khayala. It’s a bit of a crowded area but we’ve been here for a good while now. Our focus is mainly on these old shawls. We spend most of our days looking at different fabrics and trying to keep them in good shape. It isn't a huge shop or anything like that. Just a simple place where we keep the collection. Some of the pieces we have are quite old and they come from all over. We spend a lot of time checking the embroidery and the way the wool feels. My uncle started this and now we just keep it going. The neighborhood of Khyala is where we grew up so we know everyone around here. It gets a bit dusty on the streets sometimes but we keep the shawls wrapped up tight in the back. People come by when they want something that isn't made by a machine in two minutes. We don’t do much fancy stuff. Just sit here, work on the textiles, and talk to the regulars who drop in for tea and a look at what’s new. It’s a slow kind of business. We don't have a big website or anything. If you want to see the shawls, you just have to come to the colony and find the door. It’s just how we operate. We're just local people doing this work.
