Real Woods

Real Woods is located at No. 2 Perumal Kovil Street in Nerkundram. We are right off the Poonamalle Main Road, so it is quite easy to find if you are looking for us. The whole place smells like cut timber and sawdust, which I guess is expected for a wood business. We have stacks of planks and different types of wood piled up all over the yard and inside the shed. It is heavy work, moving these pieces around, and our clothes usually end up covered in fine wood dust by noon. We don’t have a fancy office with leather chairs. Instead, we have a small desk tucked in the corner where we keep track of what comes in and what goes out. People come to us when they are building something or fixing up their houses in the Nerkundram area. The road outside is always busy with trucks and cars heading down Poonamalle Main Road, but inside the yard, it’s mostly just the sound of wood being moved or stacked. Sometimes we have to spend a lot of time searching through the piles to find the exact piece someone is looking for. It is a simple, hardworking environment. We handle the wood, we load it up, and we move on to the next task. It’s just how we spend our days here, surrounded by trees that have been turned into lumber for the people nearby.
