Marvel Machines Pvt Ltd is tucked away in the Leo Industrial Estate in Pallikaranai. We are at No: 3, which is quite close to Neelaambal Sesha Mahal. If there is a big wedding at the Mahal, the whole road gets blocked with cars and it’s a nightmare to get our trucks in or out. The estate itself is pretty industrial, as you would expect. There is always the sound of metal clanking or engines revving somewhere nearby. We have a decent space here, but it fills up fast when we have a lot of equipment sitting around. It gets really hot in the afternoons under the shed roof. We usually take our tea breaks under the shade of a tree outside if there’s a breeze. It’s not a fancy office at all. We have some old desks and a lot of grease on the floor. Most of our day is spent making sure the machines are behaving. We’ve had some of the same guys working here for years, so we all know how each other works without having to say much. It’s a bit out of the way for some people, but it suits what we do. We don't really bother with much decoration; we just focus on the work on the floor. Every morning starts with checking the schedule and hoping the power stays steady throughout the day. We are just regular people working with big metal parts and oily tools.
