You can find Star Steel And Paints over at Plot No. 59A in Phase 1 of Auto Nagar. Being in Vedayapalem means we get a lot of people coming in from the nearby garages and workshops. It’s a bit of a crowded area with lots of trucks moving around. Inside the shop, we have racks of steel on one side and then rows of paint cans on the other. It’s a weird mix, but it works for what people need around here. The smell of thinner and fresh paint is usually pretty strong as soon as you walk through the door. We spend a lot of time mixing colors for customers who are trying to match something old. Sometimes the floor gets some spills, but we try to wipe them up before they dry. It isn't a huge place, so we have to stack things pretty high to make everything fit. Working in Auto Nagar is constant noise, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small counter where we write out the bills by hand. The steel comes in on big trucks and we have to help unload it manually most of the time. It is tiring work. We just try to keep enough stock so people don't have to wait too long. It’s just a regular local shop doing what we can.
