This branch of Nafed is located at 2-164 in Sinagarayakonda, right near the Sai Baba Temple. Having the temple so close means we hear the bells and the prayers throughout the day, which is actually quite nice. The building itself is pretty basic. We deal with a lot of agricultural stuff, so there are often farmers coming in and out to talk about their produce. The office has that old paper smell, and the ceiling fans hum constantly to keep the air moving. It gets really hot in Sinagarayakonda during the summer months. We have a lot of ledgers to fill out and bags to track. Sometimes the internet is slow, so we have to do things the old-fashioned way with pen and paper. People from the surrounding villages know this spot well. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy. Just the address and our daily work. There’s a tea stall nearby where we usually get our morning chai. If there’s a festival at the temple, the whole street gets crowded and it’s hard to get any work done, so we just take it slow. Most of our days are spent checking stock and talking to the locals about the market prices. It’s not a fancy New Delhi office, even if that’s where the main name comes from. We are just a local part of it here on the ground, dealing with the daily grind.
