It’s a grit-under-your-fingernails kind of business. The street can get pretty crowded, and we have to be careful about how we park the heavy equipment so we don't block everyone else. It’s hot in Nellore, especially in May, and the sand just reflects all that heat back at you. We have a small area where we keep the bricks stacked up. They’re heavy and rough, and you definitely need gloves if you're handling them all day. We started out small and just stayed at this location. It’s a practical setup. We don't have any fancy receptionists or air-conditioned waiting rooms. You usually just find one of us near the gate or in the back yard. We talk to the drivers, check the loads, and keep the tally on a clipboard. Sometimes the dust from the metal scraps gets everywhere, but you just wash it off at the end of the day.
