Jewel Park

Jewel Park is tucked away at 13/141 Mandapala Street. It is a narrow street, so parking can be a real headache if you are driving a big car or a van. We have been in this location for a long time, and the neighbors all know us by name now. The shop is small and the lighting is a bit dim, but we like the quiet atmosphere it provides. It is mostly just us sitting and working on the benches all day long. We do not have those big glass displays like you see in the malls. Everything is a bit more personal and low-key here. People come in to have things fixed or just to see what we have in the drawers. Mandapala Street has a lot of history to it, and you can really feel that in the old walls of our shop. We have an old ceiling fan that makes a clicking noise, but we are so used to it we don't even notice anymore. Business goes up and down depending on the time of year. During the festival months, it is a bit of a madhouse, but usually, it is just a slow and steady pace. We do not use computers for everything because we still like to write things down in a big ledger. It feels more real that way. Sometimes the roof leaks a little near the back door when it rains hard.
