Electonics Engineer

P. V. D. Sarma runs this electronics engineer spot out of H. No:27-11-1826 over in Ramji Nagar. It is situated on the 6th Line in Nellore, and if you know the area, you know it can get pretty warm and dusty during the summer months. This isn't some big corporate setup with a reception desk; it’s more of a personal workspace where things actually get fixed. People from all over Andhra Pradesh seem to find their way here eventually. We spend a lot of time with circuit boards and soldering irons under a dim light. The 6th line is mostly residential, so it stays fairly quiet except for the usual morning bustle of people going to work. Sometimes the parts we need take a few days to arrive from the city, but we just manage with what we have on the shelf for now. Being an electronics engineer in a place like Nellore means you see all kinds of gadgets, some very old and some really new. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team to promote us. It’s mostly just Sarma and the tools in the workshop. We keep a few chairs for when neighbors drop in to talk about their broken televisions or radios. It is a slow and steady kind of life here in Ramji Nagar. We just keep the door open and wait to see what needs repairing next. It’s honest work that keeps the mind busy.
