Balakrishna Ice Cream

Balakrishna Ice Cream is located at 2(B) on G.N.T. Road in the Vedayapalem area. We are situated right near the Ayyappa Temple, which is a landmark that most people in this area know very well. It is a simple shop where we sell ice cream to the people passing by on G.N.T. Road. Being near the temple means we get a lot of foot traffic, especially on certain days of the week when there are festivals. We aren’t a fancy outfit; we just have our freezers and a few chairs for people to sit down if they want to. The noise from the road is pretty constant during the day, but you get used to it after working here for a while. We spend a lot of time making sure we have enough stock for the crowds that come through Vedayapalem. It is a local business run by people who live right around this neighborhood. We don’t use any complicated marketing strategies; we just open the doors and wait for customers to come in. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to scramble to keep things from melting, which is just a normal part of the job for us. Most of the folks who stop by are regulars who have been coming to us for many years now. We like being a small part of the daily life on G.N.T. Road. If you are ever near the Ayyappa Temple, you can’t really miss our shop. We just keep things basic and serve treats.
