Ambulance - star Ambulance

Star Ambulance is based out of Dargamitta, right near Bollineni Hospital. If you know the area, it’s that busy stretch where there is always traffic and people moving around. We have our vehicles parked and ready most of the time. The drivers spend a lot of their day just sitting nearby, waiting for the phone to ring or for someone to run over from the hospital. It’s a small operation, really. We don’t have a big office or anything like that. It is mostly about being in the right spot at the right time. The roads in Dargamitta can be quite tight, so we know all the shortcuts to get around the congestion. Sometimes the heat is a lot, so we find shade under the trees while we wait. Maintenance is a big part of the job, checking the tires and making sure the fuel tank isn’t low. People in the neighborhood know us by sight now. We don’t use any fancy tracking systems, just our mobile phones and knowing where the main landmarks are. It gets noisy with the hospital nearby and the buses passing through, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We just do the transport back and forth, making sure people get where they need to go without too much fuss. It is practical work and it keeps us on our toes throughout the day and night shifts. We make sure the engines stay running smooth every single morning.
