Maa Umiya

We are Maa Umiya, and our place is located on A.B. Road in Village-Jamli. It’s part of the Tehsil-Mhow area. Being on the A.B. Road means we see a lot of long-distance travelers and big trucks passing through all the time. Jamli is a small village, so everyone knows where we are. It’s a bit of a mix between rural life and the busy highway. I start my day quite early, usually when the mist is still hanging over the fields around the village. The business is right there on the main road, so it’s easy to spot if you are driving through Mhow. I spend a lot of time outside, watching the traffic go by and managing the day-to-day things that need doing. The air is a bit fresher here than in the city, even with the highway right there. We don't have any fancy marketing or big corporate ideas. It’s just us working in Jamli and helping out whoever stops by. Sometimes the power goes out in the village, so we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. Life moves at its own pace here. My family has been in this area for a long time, so we feel a strong connection to the land. The building is simple, made for utility rather than looks. We keep a few chairs out front for when visitors want to sit and talk for a bit before moving on.
