Down here on Railway Station Road in Nedumangad, things can get pretty loud when the trains go by. Our office is at number 2, right where all the action is. It is not a big corporate space with fancy glass walls or anything like that. We have some desks, a few chairs for people to sit on while they wait, and a lot of paper folders stacked up. Dealing with associates work means there is always something to write down or a form to fill out. People from around Nedumangad come in when they have some business to sort out or need help with local paperwork. It’s mostly just us sitting here working through the files and answering the phone. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but you get used to it after a while. We have been in this spot for some time now, so we have seen the road change quite a bit. There is always a lot of dust from the station traffic, so we are constantly wiping down the tables and windows. It is a practical kind of place. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how things work around here. Most of our day is spent talking to people or checking documents over and over to make sure nothing was missed. It’s steady work, and we just keep at it from morning until we close up in the evening, handling the papers one by one.
