Shamukh Motors

If you head down Rr Pat and look for Dr Rajeshekhram Street in West Godavari, you will find Shamukh Motors. We are situated quite close to the Bala G Temple, so we often hear the bells ringing throughout the day. It’s a busy street, and there is always the smell of engine oil and exhaust in the air, which I guess is normal for a place like ours. We spend most of our time with grease on our hands, working on whatever comes through the door. The shop isn't a showroom; it’s a working garage where things get fixed. We have tools scattered around and parts waiting to be installed. It’s a bit of a mess to an outsider, but we have our own system. Being in West Godavari means we deal with a lot of dust and heat, so the fans are always running in the back. We don't have a front desk person or anything like that. If you need us, you just walk in and find someone under a hood or a bike. We’ve been on this street for a long time, and the locals know us well. We don't put much stock in being polished or professional-sounding. We just know how to handle motors and we get the job done. It’s hard work, and the days are long, but there is something satisfying about seeing a machine run right again before it heads back out onto Dr Rajeshekhram Street.
