Mohanty Cement Works

If you are driving on State Highway-41 through Boudh, you will see Mohanty Cement Works right there. We are positioned directly in front of the road, not far from Kantalal Hospital. Being near the hospital makes it easy for people to give directions to our yard. We handle a lot of cement work here. It gets loud sometimes because of the mixers and the heavy trucks coming in and out from the highway. My brother and I started this because there was a need for good cement blocks and materials in this part of town. We don't have a big fancy showroom. Mostly, it’s just the shed and the open area where the products cure in the sun. It’s dusty work, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. We see a lot of travelers passing by on the highway, but our main work is for the people right here in Boudh. When the rain comes, we have to move fast to cover everything up. That's just part of the routine. We’ve learned to listen to what the local builders need. If a batch isn't right, we start over. There is no point in putting out work that won't last. We stay busy from morning till the light fades. It’s a decent way to make a living and we appreciate the folks who stop by. We’re just regular people doing our best with the tools we have and providing what the neighbors need.
