Kalinga Marbles

Kalinga Marbles is over in Sastrinagar in the Nayagarh district. It’s a quiet enough area most of the time. We’ve got a lot of stone sitting out back in the yard. People in town know where we are. We don't really bother with big advertisements. Most of our customers are just folks building a house or fixing up a floor. They come in, look at what we have, and we talk about the prices. It’s a simple way of doing business. My hands are usually dusty from moving the samples around. We’ve been here for years, through the hot summers and the rainy seasons. The yard can get a bit muddy when it pours, but that’s Nayagarh for you. We don’t have a big staff, just a few local guys who know how to handle the marble without breaking it. It’s heavy work. We focus on getting the slabs loaded up correctly on the trucks. Sometimes we have a tea and talk with the contractors who stop by. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We just show what we have and let people decide. Sastrinagar is a good spot for us. It’s easy for the trucks to get in and out from the main roads. We aren’t trying to be the biggest place, just a reliable one where you can get your stone and get on with your day. We like the pace of life here and the people we meet every day.
