Hindalco

Hindalco has a site out here in Korapitha. It’s a small place near Odgaon in the Nayagarh district. To get here, you have to take the road through Odgaon, and it can be a bit of a rough drive if the weather has been bad. We aren't in a big city with tall buildings. Instead, we are surrounded by fields and a lot of red dirt. The office at the post is just a simple building where we manage the local operations. There is always dust on the windows from the trucks passing by. Most of the people working here are local guys from the village or nearby towns. We spend our days tracking the materials and making sure the site work is moving along. It’s quiet out here compared to the big industrial hubs, but there is always something to fix or a delivery to wait for. We don't have much in the way of air conditioning, so we mostly rely on the breeze when it comes. It’s a very basic way of working. We eat our lunch together under the shade when it gets too hot. There’s no corporate talk here; we just speak normally about the tasks at hand and the weather. Being in a rural part of Odisha means things move a bit slower, and we’re okay with that. It’s honest work in a quiet corner of the country.
