I set up my practice here on Heon Road, right near the bus stand in Nawanshahar. If you know where Karan Hospital & Maternity Home is, that's exactly where I am. It's a busy area with a lot of people moving around all day. Being near the bus stand means there's always noise outside, but you get used to it after a week. I’m Navneet Kaur Bhatia and I handle the architecture work here. It’s a small office but we keep it organized enough to find what we need. Most days are spent looking at site plans or talking to contractors about why something isn't lining up. I don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what I do. It’s just about getting buildings put together right. People from all over the district come by because it's easy to find us. The hospital being right there makes it a landmark for everyone. My desk is usually covered in pens and rulers that I forget to put back. Sometimes it's a bit chaotic when three people show up at once without calling. But we manage. It’s a local operation, nothing too flashy. I just like the work of figuring out where walls should go. The tea stall nearby is where I get my breaks. It’s a good spot to be in the middle of everything in town. Sometimes I stay late just to enjoy the quiet once the buses stop running for the night.
