Jan Jagriti Seva Foundation

You can find us right at the back of NuraniGondapur in Nawada. The place belongs to Mohammad Umer Alam’s son. It is a pretty easy spot to locate if you are from this part of Bihar. We have been here for a bit now, just trying to keep the Jan Jagriti Seva Foundation going. It is mostly about helping out in the neighborhood and seeing what needs doing. We don't have a big staff or any corporate managers. It is just a few of us who grew up around here and wanted to stay and do something useful. Every day is a little bit different. Some days are quite slow and we just sit outside and talk to the people passing by on the street. Other days, we are really busy trying to organize small things for the local families. We don’t have a website or anything fancy, just this physical location where people can drop in whenever they feel like it. Life in Nawada moves at its own pace, so we try to keep up with what the community actually needs. It could be anything from helping with local forms to organizing a small gathering. We don’t make a big deal out of it. It’s just what we do to stay busy. The address is in 805110, so we are right in the heart of the area. We are glad to be part of the community and we stay here.
