Doon Public School & Junior Wings

Running Doon Public School & Junior Wings keeps us on our toes every single day. We are right on Ambedkar Nagar Road in the Par area of Nawada. The Junior Wings part of our name is very literal because we have so many little ones running around the hallways. It can get quite noisy, especially around lunchtime when everyone is trying to eat their tiffin at once. Our location on the road means there is always something going on outside—rickshaws passing by and people heading to work. We’ve been at this address for a good number of years now. The building has seen a lot of students come and go. I remember when we first started, we didn't have half the rooms we have now. We just added bits and pieces as we went along. The walls are covered in some old charts and drawings the kids made. It’s not a polished corporate office, it’s a school. We deal with everyday stuff like a broken chair or a lightbulb that needs changing. Nawada is a busy place, and we are just one part of the neighborhood here. Most of the parents work nearby and drop their kids off on their way. We don't have fancy brochures or anything like that. People just talk to each other and find out about us. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s how life is when you’re dealing with kids all day long.
