Usha Garments Mfg. Co. Pvt. Ltd. is over in the GIDC Colony, right on the road that connects Umbergaon Station to Sanjan. It’s an industrial area, so it’s not exactly a quiet place to work. We have our manufacturing setup here in the colony. Most of our day is spent watching the machines and making sure the stitching is done right. We make a lot of different garments. The workers here are mostly local people who have been doing this for years. You’ll see a lot of trucks moving in and out of the GIDC area all day long. We don't have a polished showroom; it's a factory through and through. There's the smell of fabric and the sound of industrial sewing machines going from morning until evening. We take our breaks together and talk about the weather or local news. It’s a very grounded environment. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make clothes. The building itself is sturdy and functional, built to handle the heavy work we do every day. Being near the station helps with getting materials in and out. It’s a lot of manual work and checking pieces one by one. It gets dusty, and it’s often noisy, but that’s the reality of a garment factory. We're just a group of people working hard in Umbergaon and getting the shipments ready for the next day.
